Amanda's Journal
Hey guys! How was your weekend? I hope it was fabulous! I also hope you, your families, and all of your friends are OK after the massive eathrquake and tsunamis in the north.  I feel so lucky and blessed that Yamaguchi is realtively unaffected, but at the same time, I feel like the present situation in Japan is so surreal.  I can't believe that the images I see on the news are from the same country I'm living in now! Because humans cannot control natural forces, I feel that perhaps the most prudent course of action is for us to focus on rebuilding and to be proactive against future natural disadters.  The fact is that Japan exists on a fault line between 2 tectaunic plates, so earthquakes and tsunamis are an unavoidable part of life for those of us who live in this country.  However, I feel that loss of life and minimalization of damage are possible if we accept this as a reality, plan and build accordingly, and live with hearts wide open.  Looking forward to seeing you all for another great week!

How’s going?. I am Masao Sawano of the class of 9:00pm in Shunan school on Tuesday.
I was surprised at a very big earthquake in Tohoku region on March 11th. An earthquake was a magnitude of 9.0. It was most large magnitude in Japan. In addition, I felt the terror of the tsunami. And I worry about the accident of the nuclear power plant. About 15 years ago, I experienced Great Hanshin Earthquake, at that time I felt very terrible . After this earthquake, an aftershock continues. I think that victims are very uneasy. I think what I will be able to do to victms.
I am looking forward to the next lesson.
