Summer vacation is almost over and for many students it is time to go back to school. Now that students are going back to their normal daily routines we have been talking about routines a lot in classes.
Recently we have been describing how we spend our time. We work on past tense with question like "how did you spend your summer vacation?" or "what did you do today?" While questions like "what will you do this weekend?" help students to practice how to describe future events.
In addition to learning how to talk about their day, students have been learning to use frequency words (ex.every day, once a week, never, sometimes, always, usually, often). These words are very useful in English conversation. The students practice using these words when we play a game called "How often do you...". In this game students describe how often they do certain activities. For example:
A sample question may be: How often do you go to the library.
The answer maybe be: I go to the library once a week.
We go around giving each student a chance to answer questions like these.
I really enjoy listening to the students talk about their daily life it is very interesting. I look forward to learning more from them.
