Iana-sensei back again. I'm in a super-duper good mood! Why you may ask? Well because IT'S finally here! You may wonder what... First of all, parents week is finally here. More precisely - it's already in full swing here at ECM. And secondly, SPRING is finally here! Both in theory and in practice. In theory meaning that today is officially the last day of winter! Yuppie! And in practice because the weather has gotten significantly warmer in the last few days. Even the nights aren't as cold anymore. As I walked to work today, the sun was shining brightly, a warm wind was blowing and the birds were singing! So hooray! I love spring! It's my favorite season for a lot of reasons, meanwhile winter is my least favorite season because I hate the cold and don't like snow either. This is why I'm so excited that spring is finally here.
Spring is also a time for changes and for starting new things and etc. It is in spring that flowers bloom and trees get new leaves. It is also in spring that the new school/work year starts in Japan, so a lot of people, including many of our students, will be starting new chapters of their life pretty soon. This is both a happy and sad moment for me as an ECM teacher. On the one hand, I'm very happy and excited for all our students who will start attending new schools in April. However, on the other hand, some of them have to leave ECM due to moving to a different city or just not having enough time to balance both their new high school life as well as eikaiwa. This is the sad part obviously.
And on the note of change and new start, many of the students who are not leaving ECM had tests this past week or two. Also, there still remain some who will have tests next month. Those who sucessfully pass the test will move on up to a higher level of English class as well as on to new textbooks! So congratulations to those of you who've already passed! Please continue to work hard in the new school year too!
~Iana.
P.S.: I took the picture above on my way to buy something for lunch during my break at work today. Plum trees are currrently in full bloom so I just couldn't resist the beauty. Next up, we'll all be waiting for sakura to bloom ne?
